If you want to install a new chandelier fixture, you'll have to install the chandelier junction box first. Installing a chandelier in the ceiling requires a junction box to connect the wires and hold the weight of the chandelier. Junction boxes are a code requirement to prevent fires and other electrical accidents.
The correct use of the installation of the chandelier junction box can ensure that you can safely and reliably use the chandelier.
How to install a chandelier junction box, which seems less complicated.
Step 1: Place the back of the chandelier junction box on the ceiling in the desired installation location, and straighten and level it. Use a pencil to trace the outline of the junction box on the gypsum board.
Step 2: Use a drywall saw to cut along the depicted contour line and remove the cutout. Create a hole in the ceiling drywall for the junction box.
Step 3: Pass the required wires through the holes on the back of the junction box. Then fit the junction box into the hole created in the ceiling. Until the back of the junction box rests against the drywall inside the ceiling.
Step 4: Turn one of the screws in front of the junction box to a position immediately behind the drywall. Then fully tighten the two screws to secure the junction box.
Step 5: After the junction box is completely in place and fixed, install the crossbar that comes with the chandelier.
Step 6: Connect the fixture's wires and secure the chandelier to the crossbar. Twist the wires of the matching chandelier together and cover each exposed connection with a wire nut to prevent shorting of the fixture. The linked wires are tucked into the junction box.
